New Dry Bars Popping up Around England
Working in drug rehabilitation—it is so nice to see what looks like a healthy trend popping up around England—dry bars! Dry bars are normal social bars minus the alcohol.
I have just heard of a new dry bar opening up in Birmingham and this follows on from the success of Redemption which now has two locations in London their motto “spoil yourself without spoiling yourself” is a wonderful way to think.
If we all thought of ways to spoil ourselves, indulge ourselves in ways that not only did no harm to our bodies but the environment and society too, we would certainly be on the way to a better world.
If more and more people could get out, have a great night, and not feel they were missing out on anything, all without alcohol, how much easier would that be for recovering alcoholics or those trying to avoid initial temptation.
For those leaving rehab centres it can be a battle to live a comfortable and happy life without putting themselves straight into the way of temptation. Alcohol-free bars could not be more ideal. All the trappings of a normal fun night out without the alcohol.
Birmingham’s new dry bar is an inspirational story as it has been opened by a former addict, Steven Dixon, who has recovered from 15 years addicted to drugs and alcohol. This bar has been opened particularly with recovering addicts in mind, though of course, anyone is welcome.
I hope this will be a continuing trend, and more and more of these will be seen around all over the country, until it is no longer a novelty but rather going alcohol-free is just a normal option for everyone.
This is just one more way that clever entrepreneurs are finding to create business’s with healthy benefits, we are always looking for ways to have fun without drugs and this is a wonderful one to add to the list.
